HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR ARTWORK

OIL PAINTINGS:

If you receive your painting wet, allow it to dry in a dust free environment. Paintings can take up to six months to completely dry. You can frame your painting when it feels dry to the touch, but do so with care.

Your oil painting should not be framed behind glass.

Paintings may be dusted, but cleaning should be done by an expert.

Any damage your canvas may incur, such as tears or punctures should be repaired by an art conservationist.

Paintings can be harmed by cigarette smoke and airborne chemicals.

COLORED PENCIL PAINTINGS:

When framing colored pencil artwork, always use a matt to avoid moisture and attachment damage.

Use only clear glass made especially for framing with colored pencil artwork. Any other kind of glass (hardware,non-glare, etc.) will blur details or change colors.

Avoid hanging colored pencil artwork in any strong light, natural or artificial since many pencil colors are not stable under direct light.

Colored pencil artwork will appear yellowish in incandescentlight, bluish in flourescent light, and full-colored in daylight,or full-spectrum light. Use all three to suit your mood at different times!
